1. JOB Title/ DESCRIPTION
Job Title : Therapist Assistant
Department: Vision Rehabilitation Programme
Report to : Head, VRP

Duties and Responsibilities :
Work with the supervision of occupational therapist to provide hands-on services to the visually handicapped person who is learning new ways to be independent in their life.
Direct hands-on services include:
Orientation and Mobility Training: to enable clients to move around indoors and outdoors independently and safely.
Activities of Daily Living Skills Training: to teach both basic and instrumental activities of daily living skills.
Group Activities: training could be conducted for a group of clients.
Implement an individual care plan for each client, to write reports on client’s progress and provide feedback for the continued assessment until the client is discharged.
Other Duties and Functions
Conduct Sighted Guide Techniques Training for clients’ caregivers, volunteers and general public.
Assist public education programme.
Assist in organizing events
To perform any other duties in the Association as directed by your Supervisor or the Executive Director.
2. SALARY RANGE
$936 - $1750
3. Pre-requisites
3 GCE ‘ N’ Level passes (Grades 1 to 5) in English & 2 other subjects or 2 GCE ‘O’ level passes (Grades 1 to 8) in any 2 subjects.Those with NITEC in Social Service would have an advantage.
Successful candidates without the NITEC in Social Service would be required as part of the Job requirements & continuous upgrading of skills sets to attend this sponsored programme and bonded for a year with SAVH.
4. Commencement of work
Can start immediately preferred.
