L'Oreal Touching Colours Project raised $20,000 for SAVH

The world's leading cosmetic and skin care company, L'Oreal, took its corporate social responsibility in an innovative way by aiming to get cosmetics and skin care to the disabled. It all started with the coverage of a 5-year old blind piano prodigy from Korea, Yoo Ye Eun, when she was asked what she wanted most in life during a TV interview in Singapore held July last year. Ye Eun's innocent reply of "make-up and lipstick" inspired L'Oreal Singapore to start a workshop-based community project, Touching Colours, to teach grooming skills to the visually-impaired. The Touching Colours workshop announcement was made on 4 June at L'Oreal's 100th anniversary celebration held at the Jurong Bird Park where $20,000 was raised for SAVH. Through this workshop starting in August, visually-impaired children and adults are expected to be taught proper skin care, make-up technique and hairstyling skills. SAVH clients are most welcome to participate at this workshop.
