YAH! Community college gave SAVH clients a treat! It was goodwill gesture time from the YAH! Community college when they provided ‘finger-lickin-good’ KFC meals to our visually handicapped clients. One good thing led to another when after lunch, our kind donor spent the afternoon karaoking with SAVH members. |

Standard Chartered Bank Youth Visit - 28th May Standard Chartered Bank organised a visit to SAVH for a group of youth so as to help these youth to know more about the lives of the Visually handicapped as well create awareness for the association. SAVH hosted the youth who toured the premises and interacted with our visually handicapped clients at the sheltered workshop. Public Education – Introductory Braille Lesson - 4th June The month of June saw SAVH’s several involvements at school and grassroots level. One of them is an introductory Braille Lesson at Anderson Junior College held on 4th June 2007. Students at the college were presented with a short talk on the history of Braille and were introduced to the Braille language and its basic. To experience the use of Braille, these students also had their hands on the Perkins Brailler (Braille Typewriter). |

Saint Andrew Junior College Volunteers - 7th to 11th June Several SAJC students spent their school holidays unleashing their artistic skills by volunteering their time and effort at SAVH recently. These students spent over three days painting colourful and attractive images on unused chairs made for children by some of the visually handicapped members. Their volunteer effort produced a new lease of life to these chairs which will be sold off later to raise funds for SAVH. |
