Please be informed that with effect from 1 July 2008, the Braille Production Unit (BPU) will be revising its service fees.
For many years, the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH) has been providing Braille services to you at greatly subsidized price. This was made possible through funding and donations that we received.
Funding for this service has been withdrawn and donations are getting harder to come by these days. SAVH understands the special needs of our Visually Handicapped and wishes to continue with this service with or without funding or donations. However, we hope you understand and appreciate that SAVH will now have to revise the price upward. We have no choice as funding and donations to support this service are not forthcoming.
Let us assure you that even with this fee revision; it will not be sufficient to fund our operations. However, if you are in financial difficulty and cannot afford to pay for the fees, please refer to our Social Workers / Welfare Officers who will assist you, through the Means Testing, in getting the fees subsidized.
